• Photos and Memories: Images you attach to people or interactions
• Voice Recordings: Audio captured when using voice logging features (processed locally, not stored on servers)
• Account Information: Email address if you choose to enable cloud backup

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

We collect minimal technical information to make the app function:

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version (to ensure compatibility)
• App Usage: Crash reports and performance data (anonymous, no personal data included)
• Permissions: We only request permissions necessary for features you use (contacts, camera, microphone, notifications)

1.3 Information We Don't Collect

• We don't track your location
• We don't read your messages or calls
• We don't access any information you don't explicitly add to Inner Circle
• We don't use analytics trackers or advertising SDKs

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used only to provide Inner Circle's features:

• Core Functionality: Display your people, track interactions, send reminders
• AI Features: Voice transcription is processed entirely on your device using local models (audio never leaves your device)
• Cloud Backup: If you enable it, we encrypt your data with your passphrase and store it in your Google Drive (we never see the unencrypted data)
• Notifications: Send you birthday reminders and attention alerts based on your preferences
• Customer Support: Respond to your questions or issues (only if you contact us)

We never:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Use your data for advertising
• Share your data with other users
• Train AI models on your personal information

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage (Default)

By default, all your data is stored locally on your device:

• Stored in an encrypted database (SQLite with encryption)
• Never leaves your device unless you enable cloud backup
• Deleted permanently if you delete the app (unless backed up)

3.2 Cloud Backup (Optional)

If you choose to enable cloud backup:

• Encryption: Your data is encrypted with AES-256 using a passphrase you create
• Storage: Encrypted backup is stored in your personal Google Drive
• Access: Only you have the passphrase; we cannot decrypt your backup
• Control: You can disable backup and delete your cloud data at any time

3.3 Security Measures

• End-to-end encryption for cloud backups
• Biometric authentication (fingerprint/Face ID) for app access
• Secure communication (HTTPS/TLS) for all network requests
• Regular security audits and updates

4. Third-Party Services

Inner Circle uses minimal third-party services:

4.1 Google Services (Optional)

• Google Drive: For encrypted cloud backup (only if you enable it)
• Google Sign-In: For authentication to access your Drive
• Privacy: Google's Privacy Policy applies to their services

4.2 AI/Transcription Services (Pro Feature)

• Local Processing: Voice transcription is performed entirely on your device
• Privacy by Design: Audio never leaves your device and is not sent to any external servers
• No Cloud Processing: All AI processing happens locally, ensuring complete privacy of your voice recordings

4.3 Payment Processing

• Google Play Billing: Handles all payment processing for Pro subscriptions
• No Card Data: We never see or store your payment information

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have complete control over your data:

5.1 Access and Export

• Export all your data at any time (JSON format)
• View, edit, or delete any information in the app

5.2 Deletion

• Delete individual people, interactions, or photos
• Archive people to hide without deleting
• Delete your entire account and all local data
• Delete cloud backups from your Google Drive

5.3 Permissions

You control which permissions you grant:

• Contacts: Optional, to import contacts
• Camera/Photos: Optional, to add photos to memories
• Microphone: Optional, for voice logging
• Notifications: Optional, for reminders

You can revoke any permission in your device settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Inner Circle is not intended for users under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. International Users

Inner Circle is designed for privacy-first operation regardless of location. Your data stays on your device or in your personal cloud storage. If you use cloud backup, data is stored in Google Drive regions based on your Google account settings.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or via email (if you've provided one). Continued use of Inner Circle after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Data Retention

• Local Data: Kept until you delete it or uninstall the app
• Cloud Backup: Kept until you delete it from your Google Drive
• Crash Reports: Deleted after 90 days
• Support Emails: Deleted after issue resolution (unless legally required to retain)
